Governance
The Homestead Community Network (HCN) is initially being registered as a Non-profit Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG), and intends to obtain charitable status by 2025. In the meantime seed-funding and donations are being managed by the National Funding Scheme (charity number 1149800) as a ‘donor-advised fund’.
The Homestead Community Network will provide overall leadership and brand identity for all Homesteads around the country; each one will be an independent CLG.
Each Homestead, while conforming to HCN’s Core Principles, Guidelines and Clinical & Operational Model, will be run autonomously with local roots in terms of character, USP, funding and catchment.
Each Homestead will have its own relationships with locally-based supported housing providers - either as partners or collaborators - and also with local NHS Trusts and Social Care.
Homestead enterprises – such as farm shops, equine therapy etc - will form a co-branded ‘family’ of trading subsidiaries, building a variety of symbiotic relationships with Homestead as the network grows.
